B × A = { }
2.Let A= {1,2,3} and B = {× | x is a prime number less than 10}. Find A × B and B × A.
Solu.:
A = {1,2,3}, B = {2, 3, 5, 7}
A × B = {1,2,3} × {2, 3, 5, 7}
= {(1, 2) (1, 3) (1, 5) (1, 7) (2, 2)
(2, 3) (2, 5) (2, 7)(3, 2) (3, 3) (3, 5) (3, 7)}
B × A = {2, 3, 5, 7} × {1,2,3}
= {(2, 1)(2, 2)(2, 3)(3, 1)(3, 2)(3, 3) (5, 1)(5, 2)(5, 3) (7, 1) (7,2)(7, 3)}

B × B = {4, 5, 6} × {4, 5, 6}
= {(4, 4)(4, 5)(4, 6)(5, 4)(5, 5) (5, 6) (6, 4)(6, 5) (6, 6)}
C × C = {5,6,7} × {5,6,7}

Solu.:
LHS = {(A∩C) × (B∩D)
A ∩C = {3}
B ∩D = {3, 5}
(A ∩ C) × (B ∩ D) = {(3, 3) (3, 5)} ………….. (1)
RHS = (A × B) ∩ (C × D)

B × C = {2,3,4} × {3,5}
= {(2,3) (2,5) (3,3) (3,5)(4,3)(4,5)}
(A × C) ∪ (B × C) = {(0, 3) (0, 5) (1, 3) (1, 5) (2, 3)(2, 5) (3, 3) (3, 5) (4, 3) (4, 5)} ….(2)

A = {1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7}
B = {2, 3, 5, 7}
C = {2}
Solu.:
(i)(A ∩ B) × C = (A × c) ∩ (B × C)
LHS = (A ∩ B) × C
A ∩ B = {2, 3, 5, 7}
(A ∩ B) × C = {(2, 2), (3, 2), (5, 2), (7, 2)} ………… (1)
RHS = (A × C) ∩ (B × C)
(A × C) = {(1, 2), (2, 2), (3, 2), (4, 2), (5, 2), (6, 2), (7, 2)}
(B × C) = {2, 2), (3, 2), (5, 2), (7, 2)}
(A × C) ∩ (B × C) = {(2, 2), (3, 2), (5, 2), (7, 2)} ……….. (2)

(6, 2), (6, 3), (6, 5), (6, 7),
(7, 2), (7, 3), (7, 5), (7,7)}
(A × C) = {(1, 2), (2, 2),(3, 2),(4, 2), (5, 2), (6, 2), (7, 2)}
(A × B) – (A × C) = {(1, 3), (1, 5), (1, 7), (2, 3), (2, 5), (2, 7), (3, 3), (3, 5), (3, 7), (4, 3), (4, 5), (4, 7), (5, 3), (5, 5), (5, 7), (6, 3), (6, 5), (6, 7), (7, 3), (7, 5), (7,7) } ………….. (2)
(1) = (2) ⇒ LHS = RHS.
Hence it is verified.
